Hope Away From Home Campaign
We are very excited to announce Phase 2 of our Hope Away From Home Campaign. With completion of Phase 1 back in December 2011 with the opening of the Ronald McDonald Houses within C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, we are now focused on updates to our 28 year old main House.
Our main House, which was built in 1985 and has served over 20,000 families, is in need of updates. Since the beginning of the planning process, we have focused our efforts on how we can make the House more comfortable for the families we serve. Through feedback from families who have stayed with us and researching other Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the country, we are focused on updating the bedrooms and adding a private bathroom. Currently, there is one bathroom for two bedrooms with access only from the hallway. We would love to give our families the complete privacy and comfort of having a bathroom right inside their room.
We have worked with contractors, an interior designer and a volunteer House Operations Committee who have donated time to discuss, review and design the best possible options for this renovation. We hope that by the end of 2015, each bedroom will be equipped with a private bathroom ensuring that we are providing the best place for our families to come home to after long days at the hospital.
