Since the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor opened in 1985, volunteers have been central to its success. Whether assisting families in carrying on their routines of daily living, working on the maintenance of the building or helping out with a fundraiser, they are ultimately contributing to the recovery and good health of hospitalized children. Read on to find out more about how you can help sustain our "home away from home."
Robert Ferguson, President
Board of Directors

Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor depends upon support from the community, volunteers and businesses to provide families the comfort and togetherness they need during trying times.

In order to do this, the House relies on private initiatives for its continuing operation. Roughly 80 percent of the funds necessary to operate this loving House come from generous donations from individuals, groups and businesses.

The Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor is an independent non-profit charity with its own Board of Directors. The Board consists of Ann Arbor community leaders, hospital employees, McDonald's operators and other members of the community and manages the funds that support House operations.

Besides financial support, the House depends upon volunteers for important house operations and fundraising activities. Volunteers give countless hours by serving on committees, assisting in special event planning and working directly with families to meet their needs. Community groups also volunteer to cook meals for the families or assist with house maintenance. The generosity of our volunteers and friends helps families stay together when they need each other the most.

Introducing the Pillars of the House Society

We are pleased to introduce a new recognition society for donors who make a planned gift to the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor. The Pillars of the House Society will recognize donors who decide to invest in the future of our House with a planned gift of an IRA, Charitable Lead Trust, Charitable Remainder Trust, Remainder Interest in Residence, Life Insurance or via your Will.

A donation to the Society would be recognized by prominently displaying your name on the Pillars of the House Donor Wall to show our heartfelt appreciation and to encourage others to include Ronald McDonald House in their estate plans.

We hope you will consider making an investment in the future of the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor. To request a packet with planned giving opportunities or if you have questions, please call Kim Kelly, Chief Development Officer at 734-994-4442 or email at kkelly@rmh-annarbor.org.
